Introducing Café Citas

Dear Community,

Recent events have deeply affected us at Cafecito Social. Like many of you, we are deeply saddened, gutted really. Our values of community, inclusivity, and respect are at the heart of everything we do. As an immigrant, a woman and being from Guatemala, these values are deeply personal to me.

We believe in both healing and action. These recent events underscore the urgent need to reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and celebratory space for everyone, regardless of background, immigration status, race, gender, sexual orientation, or any other difference that some might try to use to divide us. We see rights being challenged, and our differences too often used to separate us instead of uniting us.

At Cafecito Social, we celebrate the diverse world we live in and are committed to building a community where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected. We believe every human being deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. We strongly believe in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and we invite you to join us in this effort.

Guatemala, a tapestry of cultures, religions, languages, skin colors, and landscapes, is a magical blend of differences. In the spirit of bringing that magic to you, we're launching a series of community events called Café Citas. We will partner with and celebrate all communities, all races, all abilities, all genders. We will honor women in all their roles – as professionals, mothers, partners, and individuals. We are committed to actively demonstrating our diverse, equitable, and inclusive community to everyone.
