¡Hola! 👋 I’m Gaby, the coffee-loving Chapina behind Cafecito Social — a Brooklyn coffee shop and Guatemalan coffee roastery dedicated to sharing the rich flavors of single-origin Guatemalan coffee beans with the world.

I’m a proud Guatemalan who built a beautiful life in New York, where I met my husband and became a stepmom to two amazing kids. But no matter how far life takes me, Guatemala will always be home. After more than 20 years in the beauty industry, I felt a deep pull to reconnect with my roots — and coffee became my bridge back.

Cafecito Social was born from that passion. It’s more than just coffee; it’s my way of passing down Guatemala’s traditions to my kids and introducing New Yorkers (and coffee lovers everywhere) to the magic of fresh-roasted, small-batch coffee from the country’s most iconic regions.

Each year, my family and I travel across Guatemala — from the volcanic slopes of Antigua (where I got married ❤️) to the breathtaking shores of Lake Atitlán — sourcing beans directly from small farmers. We choose Rainforest Alliance Certified, high-altitude coffees that capture the unique terroir, aroma, and flavor of each region.

We roast every batch in Guatemala and ship fresh weekly, crafting everything from smooth Guatemalan espresso to specialty lattes you’ll find at our Brooklyn café and Smorgasburg NYC. Whether you’re brewing at home or sipping with us in person, every cup tells a story of love, heritage, and exceptional craftsmanship.
